On December 5, 2001, Innovative Access received a fax advertising a Cancun vacation package. On December 7, 2001, I called 877-218-5181 -- the number on the fax -- and spoke with an operator named Laina. She told me all about their vacation special and I feigned interest. I asked who the company was and she mentioned some resort hotel. I was fairly certain this was not the company she was working for (and the one that sent us the fax), so I nonchalantly inquired further as to what company she worked for. She told me it was "Travelcomm" and that they're hired by these resorts. She then proceeded to tell me more about the vacations special. I said I would have to check with my partner, and Laina assured me that my partner would love the Cancun trip. I should surpise her, Laina said. I declined to purchase a vacation package, thanked Laina and said I would call back if I got clearance from my partner.
A few weeks later, after locating corporate records for "Travelcomm Industries," I called 877-218-5181 again. I asked for "Rigoberto" and was told that he wasn't in. "Is there something I can help you with?" the operator inquired.
"Well, perhaps. I just need to verify your address. Are you still at 5850 Lakehurst, Suite 150-30?"
"Suite 280," he responded.
